Look, it’s probably not THIS bad, but I’m sure many of us have dark circles under our eyes; Singaporeans have a bad habit of both working and playing too hard, because they are trapped in the vicious cycle of wanting to do well at work but also to spend every other bit of time winding down in order to have the heart to go back to work again. The result? Not enough sleep, and those panda like eyes in the morning.
Most of us would then go for beauty products like facial masks or some kind of whitening cream, or some pricey concealer to cover up those unsightly panda eyes. Save the money, and simply use something from your kitchen: baking soda.
Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate to the chemically inclined, has long been used in pricey face masks to produce skin whitening effects. Why not make your own simple baking soda treatment masks then?
Simply add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to a glass of hot water and leave a few cotton pads to soak thoroughly, before placing them under your eyes for 15 minutes. Remove the cotton pads and wash your face before applying some moisturizer under your eyes, and watch those dark circles fade away.
On the other hand, baking soda is also commonly found in toothpastes as an abrasive, which delivers both a scrubbing and whitening effect for your pearly whites.I bet you never knew that the humble baking soda could do wonders for both your skin and teeth!
That said, please don’t start rubbing yourself with it to make yourself fairer; you’ll probably rub all your skin off instead. Also, try not to go crazy with all the late nights because prolonged lack of sleep can increase the risk of high blood pressure, cardiac arrest and other extremely undesirable conditions.
