Are you a fan of scenic places? Like those drawings of mountains and seas? Well, for many travelers, being able to experience the breathtaking view of mountains at the very top is an indescribable feeling of surprise and excitement.
Due to such demand, we’ve seen the construction of skywalks and bridges that are often shocking long and high in the sky that people may not actually be willing to go on them.
In China, the newest skywalk project to allow for a stunning experience you will never forget has been completed for the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. The skywalk is 430 meters long and 300 meters above the canyon floor. Sounds unbelievable already, right? In fact, it is now the world’s highest and longest skywalk in the nature.
Other than serving as a platform for tourists to enjoy the view, the Israeli architect who built the skywalk Haim Dotan said it can be used as a runway for fashion shows. I wonder if the models will be calm and safe after the shows end?
Of course, regarding such safety concerns, the designers of the bridge made it clear that the skywalk went through rigorous tests so as to make sure no unwanted accidents will occur. The tests were said to have include both human and non-human factors, so it should be better safe.
Just a note though, China’s Yuntai mountain also had a similar glass bridge that opened a while back. Unfortunately, a visitor had noted that there are cracks in the glass bridge when it just opened for a month. The bridge was then closed 2 weeks for reparations. At that time, the bridge was claimed to have undergone rigorous testing too.
All I can say is, I will just enjoy the pretty pictures. Maybe, you can go and try?
